Loretta Schaefer:    "Painting is a passion and if I've evoked some emotional response in the viewer, I have succeeded." Loretta, a painter of impressionistic, representational works of art since 1980, prefers to paint on location whenever possible. Some of her favorite locations are among the outdoor beauty of Oklahoma, Colorado and New Mexico. Florals and still life’s are also favorites because of Schaefer's love affair with color.

She has won numerous awards in both local and regional juried shows and exhibitions. Besides exhibiting in professional art group juried shows, in Oklahoma City, she has participated in the annual invitation Tri Delta exhibit, The Bouquet of Art. She has also exhibited in the annual Showcase of Homes in Oklahoma City.

Her works are in many private collections over the US, including Alaska and Hawaii, as well as in Europe. She has had several one-woman shows, most recently at the Chisholm Trail Museum in Kingfisher, OK. She also shows at Gertrude's Doll House in Guthrie, OK.

She has studied with Ann Templeton, Ray VAnella, William Henry Earle, George Kountoupis and others.
