Educated at the University of Oklahoma and the University of Central Oklahoma, Kay has also studied with a number of outstanding professional artists from throughout the country.

Having worked in a number of media, including oil, acrylic, watercolor and collage, Kay's current series is focusing on acrylic-on-canvas paintings and watercolors. Her human figures give an impact of imminent motion and her blending of colors gives a soft, contemporary naturalism to her work. Although her vast variety of flowers almost have a fragrance, she still leaves room for the viewer's own taste and impression.
